Chora
This forum is managed
by major students of Assamese Department
and involve themselves in literary
and creative activity. Teachers of
this department encourage members
to take active part in different literary
activity in the campus and outside
its well.
This society publishes wall magazine
, organizes seminars, workshops and
competitive events. Welcoming of newcomers
is organized annually by this body
where cultural events like dance,
recitation & songs are presented
by the members. Asomiya Sahitya Chora
also aims to organize workshops in
creative writing and develop analytical
mind on literary activity.
B: Bangla Adhyayan
Chakra
This study circle was established
as early as 1993. it was established
by the major students and teachers
of this Bengali Department.
The basic aim of this study circle
to create an environment of unification
through literary activity.
Activity involves publication of wall
magazine, hand writen journal, discussion
of literature of different languages,
exchange of opinion regarding experimental
writings arrangement of freshman social
& farewell meetings and celebration
of birth anniversary of great man
Other activities involve song, painting
& drawings, recitation dance recital
etc. The study circle also helps poor
and meritorious students.

The society has been
able to involve students in different
activities. Mention may be made of
that Boro students have been participating
in the competition of songs, poem
writing, extempore speech, debate,
story writing and football tournament
organized by Greater Guwahati Dist
Committee All Boro students Union,
since last three years and they got
certificates of proficiency for the
same. The members of the society have
also been participating in the notable
foundation day celebration of the
Central Bodo Sahitya Sabha where many
literary competitions were held and
brought certificate from the same.
One of the important activities of
the society is that the society has
been able to publish its Quarterly
magazine GEREMSA regularly without
gaps in collaboration with the dept.
of Boro. Pandu College.
D: Education Association
This association
is nurtured by the students and teachers
of Education Department. The aims
and objectives of Education Association
is to organize seminars, lectures,
educational tours, sight seeing of
educationally important places and
conducting excursion.Regular activities
of this association are teachers day
celebration, conducting educational
tours, arranging freshman's social
& farewell for final year students,
release of annual " Edu News"
& wall magazine Reflection, community
service, students welfare, teacher
parents meet and alumni meet.
In 11oct 2004, the latest "Edu
News" was released along with
publication of "Reflection".
In this connection a popular talk
on mental health was delivered by
Mrs Nimi Buragohain.

E: Forum of English Studies

It is a teachers
-students' association that
organizes various co-curriculuar
and extra curricular activities
in the departments .Interested
students and teachers of other
departments are also welcomed
to the forum . It aims at stimulating
its members by broadening their
range of interest and pursuit.The
forum organizes lecture program
and seminars. Dr Parag Dasgupta
, retired Head of the Deptt
of English , Candu College ,
delivered a talk on Hamlet on
11.07.03 . a two day seminar
on modernism and literature
was held on 14-15 nov 2003.
Where Mr Upal Deb of Bangaigaon
College and Dr. Bibhash Chowdhury
of Gauhati University , spoke
on literary modernism and English
poets and literary modernism
:fiction respectively.

The objective of this
association is to create
science awareness among
students and at the same

skills.
It publishes the annual
wall magazine "checui"
talk and manages an "Information
Board" where features
& information were
provided by teachers &
students & change
at regular intervals.
It also arranges seminars
deliberated by students,
arranges popular and courses
related talks by experts,
carry out some project
works.
In the year 2003, members
produced some bamboo implements
of Chemistry Laboratory,
which attracted notice
of peer team of NAAC

A Woman's
Studies center was opened
in Pandu College on 24.02.04,
At present the center
has 47 members , both
male and female , from
the teaching and non-teaching
staff of the college .
PCWSC proposes to facilitate
studies in gender issues
,empowerment of women
, the history of resistance
movement , the representation
of women in media , folklore
and literature ,. In a
proposed series of lecture
on various women's issues
Dr. Mukti Deb Chowdhury
, former principal of
Cotton College , guwahati,
delivered the first lecture
in the series on 26.05.04.
A brochure containing
the abstract of her lecture
women in the novels of
Rabindranath Tagore ;
Binodini &Damini was
brought out .

survey within the college
finding out the sex ratio

holding P.h.D (m14: f12)
and m.phil (m4:f2) , (4)
The enrolment in 22 departments
in 2002-2003 etc.
