The Department of History of Pandu College is organising two days National Seminar on 'Status of Women in Colonioal Assam' in the College premises on 29th & 30th September, 2008.
 
Interested teachers and scholars are requested to submit full seminar paper on the follwoing sub themes typed in double space A4 paper in about maximum 10 pages on or before 31st July' 08 along with an abstract of 300 words. Papers selected will be published in the proceeding volume.
 

The paper may be sent to the undersigned by post either typed or through e-mail.

  Subthemes of the Seminar:

1. Western Education and Women
2. Role of Literary persons and intelligentia in bringing a change in the status of women in society.
3. Women and Missionnaries of N.E.
4. Role of Women of the N. E. in the freedom movement of India
5. Reflection of Women in Assamese Literature
6. Women writers of Colonial Assam
7. Women portrayed in press during the colonial period.
